Dear Community Members:
We have discovered that 17 of our Austrian Black Pine trees are diseased or dying. This airborne disease can affect other Austrian Black Pine trees.
As tree removal began today, we received many concerns from staff and community members about removing these historic trees. We made contact with several arborists and have learned that we can save the Norway Pine trees. We will direct our tree removal service to save those Norway Pines.
This also gives us an opportunity to explore a replacement program for pine trees on the high school campus in the months ahead.
Thank you again for your feedback and this opportunity to preserve our district’s heritage.
