– Julia Sosa expressed her concerns in the dissection of animals in science classes; she encouraged the Board to consider other options

SUPERINTENDENT /DEPARTMENT REPORTS

Mr. Donahue presented to the Board background information of the dress code committee of 14 and the comprehensive process in several drafts developed to get to the final drafted dress code policy for Board review. He sought input from Board members to shape the final policy before adoption.

REINSTATEMENT OF STUDENT #516929 | MOTION BY Member J. DeVlaminck, SECONDED BY Member C. Lee, The Buchanan Board of Education approves the recommendation to reinstate student #516929 to Buchanan High School effective the first semester of the 2018-19 school year with the following conditions:
– Completion of current grade of the 2017-18 school year while at an alternative setting – An approved behavioral plan is made effective – Any serious disciplinary infraction after readmission, as a visitor, may result in permanent barring from Buchanan Community Schools property
